Printer Friendly Version GOOD OPERATION OF SERBIA WITH THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF THE HAGUE RESIDUAL MECHANISM @ 16 July 2019 06:08 PM

Justice Minister Nela Kuburović met former Chief Prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal and current Prosecutor of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals Serge Brammertz in New York on the eve of a Security Council meeting.

                                        

Justice Minister Kuburović and Prosecutor Brammertz assessed that Serbia’s cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office of the Mechanism is excellent, which was noted also in the last 6-month Progress Report of the Prosecutor.

Prosecutor Brammertz assessed as very positive the organization of the regional War Crimes Prosecutors Conference in Belgrade last May, which he attended alongside the

Prosecutors of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia. The Conference focused on effective prosecution and trial of war crimes and cooperation and information exchange among Prosecutor’s Offices of the countries in the region. Prosecutor Brammertz went on to say that his Office would continue to render support to the Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade by organizing special lectures and training for its Deputy Prosecutors in order to enhance the Office capacities.

 

                                                  

Justice Minister Kuburović will attend the meeting of the Security Council, convened to consider the 6-month Progress Report of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, on Wednesday, 17 July 2019.
