Today, Serbia hosted the traditional Ambassadorial Luncheon for the representatives of the Eastern European Group of States within the United Nations. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić attended the Luncheon as a guest of honour.

In addressing the representatives of the Group, Foreign Minister Dačić informed of Serbia’s national and foreign-policy priorities, focusing on the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the role and importance of UNMIK. He highlighted Serbia’s readiness to find a compromise solution for Kosovo and Metohija and pointed to the one-sided measures taken by Priština which present an obstacle to the continuation of the dialogue. He went on to underline the importance of partnership and coordination within the Group and expressed Serbia’s interest in strengthening friendly relations and cooperation with all its States.

The Eastern European Group of States is one of 5 regional Groups within the United Nations which consists of 23 States (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine}. Serbia chairs the Group in July 2019.
