New York, January 13, 2022 - H.E. Mr. Nemanja Stevanovic, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Serbia to the United Nations, spoke today to H.E. Ms. Caroline Ziadeh, Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo and Metohija (UNMIK). Ambassador Stevanovic emphasized that Serbia insists on the necessity of consistent respect for UNSC Resolution 1244, and underlined the key importance of the continuation of the Mission’s engagement in an undiminished scope and with an unchanged mandate. He also pointed out the importance of regular consideration of the issue of Kosovo and Metohija in the UNSC through the presentation of six-month reports by the UN Secretary General. He expressed Belgrade’s commitment to finding a compromised solution through dialogue with Pristina and at the same time reminded that there is still no progress in implementing the obligations that Pristina has undertaken so far, primarily in connection with the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities.
