The President of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Dr Muamer Bačevac and Deputy President of the Committee Nataša Tasić-Knežević participated at the sides events of the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women organized by IPU, OHCHR, and UN Women on 7th and 8th March 2023 in New York.

At the event "The role of parliaments in advancing gender equality through technology" Dr Bačevac particularly pointed out that the Republic of Serbia has put a lot of effort in digitalisation in recent years, adding that ensuring greater participation of women in information technologies and reducing the digital gap is the best way of empowering women.

Mrs. Nataša Tasić-Knežević also delivered a speech at the event entitled "Achieving gender equality in decision-making by 2030: what resources are needed for implementation". She emphasized, among other things, that in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, out of a total of 250 MPs, 88 are women (35.2%). In addition, her authentic address was very inspiring to the audience having in mind that she introduced herself as the only opera singer of Roma nationality in the world.
