The UN GA on March 29 adopted by consensus resolution entitled “Request for an advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice on the obligations of States in respect of climate change”, tabled by Vanuatu and the group of countries.

On this occasion, UN SG A. Guterres stated that now is the time for climate action and climate justice, while Prime Minister of Vanuatu I. Kalsakau said that today’s historic resolution is the beginning of a new era in multilateral climate cooperation.

Republic of Serbia is among the countries that have co-sponsored this resolution.
